About us

I+Y is a Dutch interior architecture studio with a passion for creating places from spaces. In addition to interior architecture, we work as concept designers, deepening our understanding of the relationship between identity, requirements and space in order to form a clear and unique concept.

We believe that a space should reflect the identity of the people who inhabit it. Our work begins with the interior architectural design of a space and extends to the careful refinement of its finest details, resulting in environments where function and flow lead to timeless aesthetics that feel personal and considered.

I+Y was founded by Rienk Wiersma and Rebecca Wijsbeek.

Rebecca and Rienk have been working together since the start of I+Y Interior Architecture in 2017 and have known each other for many years. Their creative relationship is rooted in friendship and a shared design philosophy, complementing one another throughout the entire design process.

Rienk Wiersma studied Spatial Design at the Willem de Kooning Academy, while Rebecca Wijsbeek studied Identity Design at the Design Academy Eindhoven. With over 15 years of experience across different disciplines, including corporate commercial retail, hospitality, corporate office and residential design, they decided to combine their talents and creative chemistry to establish I+Y Interior Architecture.

Today, I+Y consists of a small-scale and dedicated design team, working with a strong focus on quality, collaboration and thoughtful design.

Our studio is based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. It is more than a workspace and functions as a curated showroom where our design philosophy comes to life. We collaborate here with selected partners whose craftsmanship and materials reflect our commitment to quality, tactility and timeless design.
