I+Y was commissioned to redesign the condolence room of Cemetery and Crematorium Westerveld, situated amidst pine trees and dunes by the sea. I+Y aimed to create a contemporary farewell experience. The space welcomes visitors with wooden structures and wall panels, creating a serene atmosphere. Carefully selected materials and furniture establish a calming ambiance for diverse visitors. Wooden and natural stone elements contrast softly, enhancing the tranquility of the space. Various seating areas, including a curved wooden bench with natural stone blocks, offer comfort. Consistent lines throughout the design maintain harmony and support the emotions of visitors during farewells.
